Cameroun shock Nigeria, again!
On April 21, 2011 · · In Sports ..
Cameroon moved a step closer to qualifying for the World Youth Championship after a 1-0 defeat of Nigeria in Johannesburg on Thursday.
A 45th-minute goal from Franck Ohandza gave the Young Lions victory over tournament favourites the Flying Eagles, who looked second best all through the game.
The Cameroonians controlled most of the possession and had more chances to kill off the game against Nigeria, who had defeated defending champions Ghana on Monday.
The game began with a minute of silence in honour of Nigeria international Adefemi Olubayo who died on Monday in a car crash in Greece. Olubayo won the AYC with Nigeria in 2005.
Nigeria need a win in their last game against the Gambia to ensure they can qualify for the semi-final and a World Cup place while Cameroon need only a draw against Ghana to cement their place on top of the group.
