JOB DESCRIPTION

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

A leading Capital Markets Operator requires a suitably qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Financial Controller in its Head Office in Lagos


Responsibilities

Responsible for overall Finance and Accounting activities of the company

Actively support the MD/CEO to ensure efficient operation and growth of the company

Ensure that the financial policies/procedures of the company are implemented efficiently and in line with generally accepted accounting practices (NASB & IFRS)

Manage the bank and treasury processes of the company

Institute adequate financial control systems and processes to secure the assets and efficient operation of the organization

Develop key financial processes including budgeting, management & financial accounting/reporting: Daily & monthly management reports and analyses and Monthly, quarterly and annual budgeting and variation reporting

Maintain good relationships with all relevant regulatory & statutory agencies and ensure timely rendition of returns

Supervise junior accounting staff and ensure the effective operation of the finance and, accounts departments



Requirement

Must hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or ACMA)

Minimum of 3 years post-NYSC relevant professional experience in accounting or audit related functions with a Capital Markets Operator or an Audit Firm

Must have excellent knowledge of PC software such as Excel, Word and Outlook and at least one Accounting package

Must have good organizational and communication skills with excellent command of spoken & written English
